Which comes first when pondering Creation? Where is there proof?
People seek proof for what is right. Perhaps in carbon dating.
Archaeology.
Creation’s design of order.
The problem with such approaches, a proof-based manner, is that it relies on reason.
Reason is not the certainty for faith or the assurance of faith.
The Hebrews writer: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen…By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God…” (11:1, 3).
Faith is the God-worked trust in God’s promises. “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ,” (Romans 10:17).
Spirit worked faith is the “evidence” or “basis” for hope and certainty.
Simple trust in what God has said creates both the “evidence” and the conviction on how things really are.
A faith-informed believer then lets the biblical events and words parse and appraise any theories of the origin of this cosmos.
Jesus’ go-to was what was written. “Have you not read that He who created…”
So do Jesus’ believers.
