Trinity extra-curriculars thriving

Trinity Lutheran’s generational moment marches on.

For Trinity students in fifth-eighth grade, having the opportunity to be involved in choir, band and athletics is music to their ears.

All three extra-curriculars are thriving – reaching participation numbers that haven’t been reached in some time.

“It’s fun to be a part of – just being around your friends,” shared a Trinity middle school student who participates in band and athletics.

Of the 156 Trinity students in fifth-eighth grade for the 2024-25 school year, 96 participate in band, 100 are participating in a fall sport, and 18 take part in Trinity’s after-school choir.

There’s a chance those numbers could grow even more, beginning with the 2026-27 school year, when fifth-eighth grade will be double-tracked.

Accommodations continue to help offset the growing interest – there’s still more work to be done.

“It’s a great problem to have,” shared Trinity PE teacher/athletic director Jason Specht.

For Trinity families, it’s an educational, social, emotional and spiritual investment.

It’s part of Trinity’s commitment to excellence in Christ-center education.

It’s our calling – one of our guiding pillars.

We are: Chosen. Growing. Proclaiming. Crowned.
