One of Trinity’s most used spaces is getting a much-needed makeover.
In addition to serving as a main PE space and a place for inside recess, Trinity’s gym is used for after-school practices and sporting events. It’s also an after-school pick-up location and used by Trinity’s after-school Shining Stars program.
Trinity’s gym also has hosted congregational celebrations and school events, such as band concerts, and family fun nights.
The wear and tear have taken their toll on Trinity’s gym.
“Trinity’s gym is worn out and tired from all the use,” shared Travis Jansen, who is Trinity’s Director of Facility Management. “It needs a revitalization. Hopefully, we can provide that with some improvements.”
Improvements began this week.
The cracks in the gym walls are being fixed and filled. Other work includes repairs to the ceiling, lighting, scoreboard and basketball hoops.
The gym also is being re-painted.
Other fixes that are needed but not part of this phase include: gym floor, bleacher and sound system improvements.
On March 24 – at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall – Trinity will be hosting a congregational forum. It will be an opportunity to share more progress updates and a road map for the future.
