The hair-raising sound was moving – to the point where it was hard to contain the goosebumps from forming.
There was no sense of fear – just praising God to the fullest.
More than 40 Trinity eighth-grade students and team leaders, along with new pastors and church workers from the Northern Illinois District stood together as one – singing the Doxology – this past week at Walcamp.
It was quite the impromptu welcome – not only the Northern Illinois District church workers who were in attendance for an orientation, but for the Trinity teens who spent the week at the Kingston, Ill., church camp as part of their annual Outdoor Education trip.
Throughout the week, Walcamp leaders challenged Trinity students with team building activities, along with educational and spiritual learning.
It was a respite – of sorts – for the Trinity teens, getting to know each other and most importantly God.
“This camp couldn’t have come at a better time, for me,” shared one of the eighth-graders, who is new to Trinity this year. “It’s been so much fun.”
Trinity Lutheran has been steadfast in preaching and encouraging God’s Word for more than 150 years.
It’s who we are – it’s our calling – to be the right place at the right time for someone in need, or to be the hair-raising, goose-bump forming impromptu welcome.
We are chosen, growing, proclaiming and crowned.
